Comments : If you want this phone to hear the callers name look somewhere else.
It only announces the number, not the name even in android.
When you need volume up there is cracking from the speaker too.
You cant hold it in in your ear without the ear clip.
The battery time is also poor.
Have a motorola h17txt instead.

Comments : I purchased two of these. My primary reason wasn't for driving with my Android phone, although I can because the Q1 can be paired with multiple devices. But I needed something inexpensive enough to buy multiples of to keep in different places and to carry with my laptop for silent training and video watching.

This device used to cost a LOT more than it does. The features of this little piece caused a lot of people to stand up and take notice when it first came out. The only reason they can offer the Q1 so cheap is something called the Q2, it's new successor.

This "bulk" version of the Q1 appears from the picture to come without the accessories. In fact, it came with a nice compact AC to USB power converter whose prongs flipped closed for travel and a nice little USB to mini USB power cable that bends but holds the shape you give it, as well as an over the ear to supplement the in-the-ear. The over the ear can be reversed for use on the left ear and removed altogether.

The thing is crazy easy. I put my PC in "Add a Bluetooth Device" mode. Then I hit the button to turn on my Q1. At first I got nothing. Then I hit the button again. The Q1 said, "Say a Command". I said, "Pair Me". My PC then discovered my Q1. I clicked to accept and pair with it. The Q1 told me it was paired. About 10 seconds later my PC finished configuring itself to use the Q1 and my Q1 announced it was ready for use.

To test it I went to Reuters videos, since they have some of the best news in video form. The sound quality was not as good as I had hoped. I heard clicking and a little background noise, so I couldn't give it a 5 in quality. Too bad because the truth is I'm happy. For the price I don't care that the sound quality from my PC isn't pristine. And I LOVE how simple it is and it's great voice driven interface. Just hit the button and tell it what you want to do.

It came with a tiny folded quick reference guide. If you REALLY want to understand this thing and take advantage of what it can do, you should consider downloading and reading (yep, read) blueant's Q1 user guide. The Q1's sound quality isn't pristine. But at All4Cellular's price and with the features the Q1 offers, this is an obvious no-brainer buy. Get 'em while they last.

Comments : Okay, I must admit that I was skeptical about the Voice recognition thing and the quality of sound, volume etc. But after my first set came to me damaged I thought that the Blueant q1 would never stack up to the Jawbone ERA which I ordered upon recommendations. Uh, sorry. I like it much better! The earbud is more comfy, the VR works great and the quality of sound and noise filtering seems to be every bit as good as the Jawbone. I am using this with my Samsung Focus in case you are wondering? But...it is essential to update the firmware with v 8.21 which greatly improves volume and other issues. The q1 also allows manual speed dial editing which is quite a nice feature to go with the programmable address book in the Focus. Again, great BT for the feature set and call quality...
